Review: Loving Liberty - Belinda Boring

Reviewer: Justine Rating: 5 out of 5 Fairies Knowing Belinda Boring’s work, I knew Loving Liberty would be a good read. What I was NOT expecting though was for it to blow me away!!! This is Belinda Boring’s first venture into the contemporary romance genre. Having concurred Paranormal Romance with her swoon-worthy series, The Mystic Wolves, I knew she could give an amazing action packed alpha read, but Loving Liberty was none of that. Miss Boring was able to turn off her paranormal roots and give us a true contemporary read. The character development and depth of the relationships made some of the best writing I have seen. Yes, she added a lil action, but the real story was in the characters personalities and how they related to one another. It was a truly beautiful tale. As for the ending, you all know I try to write my reviews without SPOILERS. So all I will only say is that the ending put a period to the story, and the Countess of Cliffhangers gave us a reprieve……………

Review: Paranormal Properties - Tracy Lane

Reviewer: Danny Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Fairies I love ghosts! I really loved the cover and I couldn’t wait to read this. I am not usually a fan of YA books. I prefer the adult reads, but this was really enjoyable. it made me laugh and was entertaining throughout! Jake’s parents are ghost hunters, and they have their own show called “Paranormal Properties”. When the family arrives in Dusk, Jake learns that he can see and talk to ghosts. It is really hard not to include a spoiler, so I will just say that when Jake meets Frank things get really, really fun! I am having one of these fan-girl moments where I am not sure what to say and what to leave out, but this was a really cute book, no matter your age you will enjoy it!

Blog Hop Tour & Giveaway: Werewolf Love - Dianna Hardy

There's always time to spend drooling over werewolves. I have a major soft spot for shifters, and Dianna Hardy has quickly become one of my firm favourites in creating HOT-AS-SIN shifters that are sure to get your body temperature soaring. Meet the werewolves of Dianna Hardy's Eye of the Storm series! Writing About Werewolves – Character Profiles: Taylor Name: Taylor Harper Age: thirty-three Dark brown hair, longish at the front Green eyes. 5 ft and 9 inches Slim, but very toned. Taylor is one of three (or four) main male characters. Lydia has a sudden reaction to Taylor as soon as she sees him. I wanted to write a parallel between how she responds in her hot, sex dreams and how she responds in real life. This parallel and her reaction to Taylor is the very first clue that nothing is going to be simple or standard in this series! Taylor needed to be written as the expression of humanity. He is the indicator that the human mind can still exist among a more animal-

Review: Firefly - Belle Whittington

Reviewer: John Rating: 5 out of 5 Fairies If you haven’t already read Cicada then you should; it’s the price of a coffee, will last longer & give you more pleasure! Firefly carries on the narrative from Cicada, and having read Cicada you’ll have some idea of what is happening, but there are twists & turns along the way. I really enjoyed this book & will continue reading the series and also hunt out more books by Belle Whittington. Blair is going through a transformation, but on more than one level; as well as coming to terms with the alien nation, & the growth of her new abilities; there’s also the sense of her own alienation, separated from her friends & brother & the changes in her body as she changes from girl to woman. Dark forces operate both in the present and the past & there is a point where past & present exist together. Blair’s discovery of her family’s history raises more questions than answers... As in my review of Cicada, I do

Review: A Shade of Vampire - Bella Forrest

Reviewer: Valerie Rating: 4 out of 5 Fairies Being new to the genre of young adult paranormal (vampire) romance, I have to say I was a bit skeptical going into Bella Forrest’s A Shade of Vampire. However, I became taken in by the characters, and between the many undercurrents that were running throughout the story. Derek and Lucas, Ben and Sophia and then of course there was Vivienne. I thoroughly hope that these story lines get flushed out a bit more as the story continues, as well as the main story line of Derek and Sophia. When we first meet Sophia, she is about to be thrust into a world she didn’t know existed, while already questioning herself and her purpose. She didn’t know what to do, but somehow, she was able to find her strength. At the end of the story, she is on the way to finding out who she can be. Derek, on the other hand, is struggling with who he thinks he needs to be, rather than finding out what he can truly be. His story line is waiting to be flushed more

Review: Baby (Species Intervention #6609 #1) - J.K.Accinni

Reviewer: Mary Jane Rating: 3 out of 5 Fairies Well written and detailed from the get go means if this genre, phsycholical-thriller/sci-fi, is for you then you will easily be enthralled. Although, it’s not a book for me - as I don’t think aliens on Earth in any continent in 1929 would have been as easily accepted as Baby was by Netty. Basically, it’s a story about an alien landing on Earth and changing the life of its finder for the better. Netty, the main character, has just escaped a deceptive and abusive husband and is trying to survive on her own. It contains some rape scenes and some sex scenes, but it’s not explicit if that’s not your thing, but I must say the writer gave more info on the rapes than on the intimate relationship which was actually quite confusing. It gave a jaded aura to the book and made me wonder about the author’s intention. It’s easy to say this book is a cliff hanger and has a really strong storyline. I just personally think that the era is odd

Review & Giveaway: Full Circle - Angela Ashcroft

Reviewer: Sarah Jane Rating: 5 out of 5 Fairies From the beginning, I was hooked on Angela Ashcroft's Full Circle. I literally did not put it down for two days. (During work hours too may I add) Full Circle is about a loner girl, and how even though she tries so hard to hide herself away, she is noticed by her worst nightmare…and that’s all I’m going to give you as I would hate to give anything away. But seriously, Full Circle is a different spin on a vampire novel that will keep you occupied and hooked for the entirety. Paranormal fiends will no doubt devour it. Enjoy!

Review: Skin Deep - TG Ayer

Reviewer: Bex Rating: 4 out of 5 Fairies Skin Deep proved to be a throughly enjoyable read that kept me engaged in the storyline. This was largely helped by the author's ability to create and craft strong characters who were easy to identify with, like and enjoy. Kailin and Logan in particular were characters that I really enjoyed following. T.G. Ayer successfully managed to bring life to her them, not only their characterisation, but also the effective dialogue enabled them to spill easily off the page. Skin Deep had a mountain of action, intrigue and romance, all of which I enjoyed immensely. This is definitely a series that I will be following closely.

Review: Eternity - Kim Carmichael

Reviewer: Bex Rating: 3 out of 5 Fairies Eternity was a sweet and sexy read. I enjoyed reading it and absorbed it quickly. The characters, Therin and Lucy, are likeable characters and easy to follow. There's lots of mystery and an attempt at a back story surrounding both of these characters, especially Therin's, that's never fully divulged or explored which was a shame; this held the characters from fully developing or me really appreciating all that Therin had experienced. There was just enough meat on the characters for me to appreciate this novella for its sweetness. At times it was sexy, although, I felt that the novella only just ventured into the realm of erotica. If you're a newbie into the world of erotica and enjoy paranormal reads, Eternity is a pretty perfect starting point. Likewise, more seasoned readers of both genres will no doubt enjoy Eternity and get a nice romance fix in a quick and enjoyable read.

Tour Review: Freedom Road - T.M Souder

Reviewer: Bex Rating: 3.5 out of 5 Fairies T.M Souder’s Freedom Road is a well-written and interesting book. The plot concept is both original and intriguing and the story develops successfully. There are many emotive and shattering moments that surround the character Sam, the protagonist. The events and dramas that she has to face are handled well by the author, with a finely crafted story and developed narrative descriptions. The characters, on the whole, were fairly well crafted, although, I felt that they were not fully explored or developed. There surface emotions were clear, but it’s the depth that was lacking a little. This didn’t impact on the overall enjoyment of the Freedom Road, yet it did affect how closely I was able to relate to the characters. Freedom Road successfully held my attention, and is a recommended read to YA, coming of age readers.

Review: Finding Love Under a Rock - Allee Mae

Reviewer: Valerie Rating: 3 out of 5 Fairies Finding Love Under a Rock  intrigued me from the title, and to be honest I wanted more after reading the first couple of pages. The story of two sets of best friends, two boys and two girls, there were so many possibilities that I was excited to see where it would go. The development of Kalista and Caleb’s characters, though not as in depth as it could have been for a longer novel, was great for a short story. It allowed some insight into both of their personalities. Their story would be one I would be interested in seeing flushed out a bit more. Unfortunately due to the length of the novella, parts of the story seemed to be fairly rushed or even missed. It was a nice light read with a pleasing plot that makes you smile with the characters and laugh along with them as they try to figure out what Urban legends they might just be up against in the next installment. I would give this novella 3 fairies, but with the acknowledgemen

Tour Review: Piercing Through the Darkness - Emerald Barnes

Reviewer: Bex Rating: 3 out of 5 Fairies Piercing through the Darkness follows the lives of Kandi and Jonathan, as they both embark on a journey of pain, letting go and dealing with a past that haunt them. This YA psychological thriller, is filled with well-developed tension and characters that are easy to understand and follow. The plot structure moves at a pace with significant highs and lows, allowing the reader to pause for breath before the action builds up again. There were many moments that took me by surprise and had me doing a double take. It was this aspect of the book that I especially liked. At times, I felt that the narrative was a little too simplistic, and I would have liked the characters to have extra depth, especially considering the emotions evident in this book. As an adult reader, a more sophisticated style and language choices would have helped my to become better absorbed. No doubt, however, younger readers will find the style more than appropriate,

Review: Shifted - Lynn Leite

Reviewer: Bex Rating: 4 out of 5 Fairies Shifted by Lynn Leite was a fun, highly readable book that I devoured in one sitting. I love shifter books, and while Shifted wasn't overly hot and smexy, it did have a collection of characters that I soon felt compassion for and wanted to follow. Likewise, the storyline concept was great, and the plot was developed in a way that provided enough depth, detail and intrigue to keep me absorbed and flipping the page. The author's style was smooth and really easy to follow; this allowed Shifted to be an easy and thoroughly enjoyable read. The author managed to successfully raise my pulse rate with moments of tension, break my heart a little with many tender and upsetting moments, and set the story up beautifully for the next in the series. I will definitely be picking up a copy of book two.

Review & Giveaway: The Captain's Christmas - Leona Bushman

Reviewer: Bex Rating: 4 out of 5 Fairies The Captain's Christmas proved to be a sexy, fun and action packed read. What immediately piqued my interest and was definitely an element that I enjoyed was the sci-fi genre that this hot and sexy read falls into. This really helped the book have an original concept. Bushman successfully weaves a tale of an exciting rescue mission with deception at every turn, and a whole lot of sexiness thrown into the mix. The plot develops at a sound pace with many highs and lows, creating a fast, enjoyable read. The author's creation of her main character, Captain Faraway Hastings, was particularly successful. She created a strong female lead who I happily cheered for. A thoroughly enjoyable sexy sci-fi fairies.

Review: Die Laughing - Louis K. Lowy

Reviewer: Kay Rating: 5 out of 5 Fairies Die Laughing is a dark comedy sci-fi story set in Las Vegas in 50s America and centres around a stand up comedian called Sam. E Lakeside. Sam has just got the break he's been waiting for, a chance to leave the seedy bars and comedy clubs behind for a booking on the Steve Allen Show. Finally, he's going make it big; that is until a mobster puts a contract out on him for messing with his girlfriend. Just as Sam is digging his own shallow grave in the Nevada desert with a gun aimed at him, the unimaginable happens. Sam, and the would be assassin, Francis, and his tough sexy girlfriend, Cricket, are all abducted by aliens... Die Laughing is not normally the type of story I go for, but I'm so glad I did. The plot is very well written as are the characters. Each of them very individual and each with their own inner demons. The story moves at a fast pace and has many jokes and quips peppered all the way through it. There are many

Review: Kaleidoscope World - Tomica Scavina

Reviewer: Natalie Rating: 4 out of 5 Fairies Book in a few words: Intriguing and unique a must read for any thriller or supernatural reader. One of the most interesting books I've picked up in a while, Kaleidoscope World, is a wonderfully written psychological thriller that will keep you reading to the very last pages; literally. I read it in one sitting because I wanted to know what would happen next. Following Dahlia on her path, you can't help but relate to her in so many ways, whether through her alcohol abusive mother, or her desire to know where she came from. Very well written and structured, this story will dwindle in your mind after you close its pages, least ways it did for me.

Review: Cemetery Plot - Alex Granados

Review: Brittany Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Fairies The beginning of this book was admittedly as confusing as all get out. There's three different perspectives here, two present and one past. I had to try really hard to focus on the switches so that I had half a clue about what was going on. As long as I focused, it was a pretty good story opening. About halfway through the book, it started getting less confusing. Maybe it was because I was used to it, or maybe it just started to flow better. Regardless, I actually really started to enjoy Cemetery Plot. It has a little bit of romance along with some action as well. The past started to tie in with the present, and by halfway through, I started to see the whole picture making what I read even better. I was reading along when then BAM! Everything I thought I knew about this book, changed. Job well done, Alex Granados. I definitely wouldn't have predicted the phenomenal twist! The story truly made a full circle, and because of

Review: Coffee and Cockpits - Jade Hart

Reviewer: Bex Rating: 4 out of 5 Fairies Coffee and Cockpits by Jade Hart is a fabulous romance, filled with intrigue, endearing romance and steaming hotness, oh and of course a twist that completely threw and left me doing a double take and wanting to email the author straight the way - I totally did not see that coming. Well played, Jade Hart. Well played indeed! The main characters Nina and Liam are fun and endearing characters to follow. The author has provided enough backstory that really helps to make them three-dimensional. As a result, it's impossible not to become engrossed in their story and actively cheer for them. Throw in the mix of fabulous secondary characters and we're left with a story that has the potential for a kickass series, and a book that left me feeling warm and fuzzy. Just what I expect and like about this sort of read. If you like stories with drama, romance, steamy hotness and appreciate an uber-awesome twist, then be sure to add Coffee

Review: Spellbound - Cara Lynn Shultz

Reviewer: Justine Rating: 5 out of 5 Fairies Miss Shultz had me just as her title promised, Spellbound. Cara Lynn Shultz gave us a beautifully written and timeless YA read.  I sent the following message to Bex upon finishing:  "Just finished, it was fantastic! Think cursed modern day Romeo and Juliet who relive their tragedy over and over as reincarnated soul-mates, with a slice of witchyness on the side." She responded that it sounded tragic. I guess it very well COULD have followed that line, but Cara was able to balance the heavy and sad storyline with enough wit, humor and action to prevent just that. That leaves The Ending, which was amazing, action packed, and left me with my favorite book feeling, ‘concluded’. With of course an opening for more! I am picky (shut up Bex and let me finish) …… with my ratings, I was going to give Spellbound a 4.5 due to overwhelming awesomeness, but as I write this review, I find myself wanting to reread it all over a
