Review: Reflect Me - K.B. Webb

Reflect Me by K.B. Webb Reviewer: Bex Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Fairies Reflect Me provides a read that is bittersweet. I laughed out loud, shouted constantly and cried on numerous occasions. The author's ability to move her reader through such an array of intense and varied emotions is a true and accurate reflection of her skill and creativity. K.B. Webb successfully brought her characters and their experiences to life through their gritty and raw experiences, mixed in beautifully with palpable tension and hot romance. Exactly my sort of book! The pace was effectively controlled, producing a quick, well-paced narrative filled with character highs and lows. This kept me engaged and thoroughly absorbed. If you enjoy hot, heavy mixed with a little bit of heartbreak, then be sure to check out this fabulous read.

Release Day Review: Tattered Love - Lola Stark

Reviewer: Bex Rating: 5 out of 5 Fairies Tattered Love is a truly fantastic debut novel from an author set to take the indie scene by storm. The formulation of the storyline from concept, to character creation, to plot development is beautifully executed. There was barely amount that I had the chance to gasp for air and recover, not only a result of the fast-perfect pace, but also by my unwillingness to put this engrossing read down. In some books, a fast pace can be an issue, but not in Tattered Love. The speed simply works. It adds to the unfolding drama and action, and as a result, successfully helps to deliver a hot-as-Hades contemporary romance. We are introduced to the two main characters Scarlett and Mace. It's a challenge to pinpoint which character I had a crush on the most, both are superb three-dimensional characters who are fiery, passionate and flawed. That's part of the beauty of this book - how truly real the characters are in a world on paper. Th...

Review & Giveaway: The Captain's Christmas - Leona Bushman

Reviewer: Bex Rating: 4 out of 5 Fairies The Captain's Christmas proved to be a sexy, fun and action packed read. What immediately piqued my interest and was definitely an element that I enjoyed was the sci-fi genre that this hot and sexy read falls into. This really helped the book have an original concept. Bushman successfully weaves a tale of an exciting rescue mission with deception at every turn, and a whole lot of sexiness thrown into the mix. The plot develops at a sound pace with many highs and lows, creating a fast, enjoyable read. The author's creation of her main character, Captain Faraway Hastings, was particularly successful. She created a strong female lead who I happily cheered for. A thoroughly enjoyable sexy sci-fi fairies.

Review: Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan

Reviewer: Justine Rating: 5 out of 5 Fairies Undeniable, by Madeline Sheehan, was like a  beautiful car wreck. I knew what was happening was wrong, but I couldn’t tear my eyes away. And no matter how hard the occupants tried, they couldn’t stop and always ended up hurt in the end.  Throughout Undeniable, I kept finding myself emotionally absorbed and shouting OMFG many times, as I hoped that THIS, THIS would be the time it all works out! Then I would check the progress bar to be told 49%, 60%, and so on, and so on. I did find the end a slight let down, but I’m still not sure if it was because it was a little quick or because I was so emotionally drained from laughing, crying, and shouting. Madeline Sheehan’s book is not for those with a weak stomach or high morals. It comes with strong content and touches on very sensitive subject and not gently either. That said, it was a beautifully composed story, with real life traumas and experiences. The ones you thin...

Review: Lexi Baby by Lynda LeeAnne

This book was hard for me review. I related to Lexi on a personal level, beyond any book before. At times, it was almost parallel to my life when I was 18 and 19 years old. I wish I could explain and clarify more, but the synopsis does not even scratch the surface of Lexi’s story. I will say that in many ways I LOVED THIS BOOK! I found myself crying in both sadness and laughter. I am also officially on the hunt for a best friend of the same caliber of Trish. 4 fairies from me and I can’t wait for Trish and Tony’s story. It's titled Trish, Just Trish and Lynda is planning on a February release!   Goodreads Synopsis Alexis Sky Martine thinks of herself as the average girl-next-door that does what she has to do to get by, have fun and enjoy life. She is madly in love with her sexy, drop-your-panties-at-first-sight, hottie boyfriend who is equally in love with her; more like downright obsessed. He treats her like she is his heart; like he needs her to exist; li...

Review: Mistfall by Olivia Martinez

Reviewer: Bex Rating: 5 out of 5 Fairies do love it when I pick up a book with little knowledge and therefore few expectations other than I hope I enjoy it, only to discover that I'm bowled over the characters and plot. I immediately enjoyed Mags' character, the protagonist. She is somewhat similar to other heroines of urban fantasy; feisty, ballsy, attractive and overall pretty bad-ass. I have no issues with this at all. That's one of the main reasons why I love female leads in this genre. What Olivia Martinez offers however, through the creation of her character, is a new type of supe. And a pretty cool one at that! I foolishly thought that I had the plot figured out, that everything would pan out in a pretty straight forward way. But boy oh boy was I wrong. Olivia Martinez, the clever and crafty author that she is, seriously knocked me for six with her twists and turns. Be prepared there are several. I laughed out loud on several occasions, and was pretty dar...

Review: Tasting Fire by Shelly Holt

In my opinion, there are few things better than a good shape-shifter story and this book definitely had the makings for that .   In Tasting Fire, Ms Holt takes the reader on an action packed non-traditional adventure into the incredibly secretive world of the Pari, a society of shape-shifting snow leopards that reside in the Himalayas.  Rae Hales is an idealistic brilliant strong-willed scientist that despite her less that Norman Rockwell upbringing is still willing to take a risk and release her "inner vixen" to get the man/snow leopard she wants. Rae makes the perfect heroine to the self-appointed, totally consumed, extremely rich, a bit overbearing, Kai Tenzin. While Kai is extremely attracted to Rae, he is resistant to any relationship because he is completely immersed in the preservation of his people, the Pari and he is "her new boss". Finally it is up to Rae to "convince" him that working together cannot stop their ever growing attract...

Review: She-Wolf (Blood #0.5) by Elizabeth Morgan

She - Wolf is a supernatural erotic romance set in Scotland. It centres around Owen and his werewolf pack and the problems that they face, including his difficult relationship with Clare whose heart he broken five years earlier. This is the first full length novel I've read from Ms Morgan and having read two novellas previously, which I loved, I was very excited to see what she could do with a feature length so to speak and let me tell you she did NOT disappoint! I love her writing style she gives just enough detail without taking away your imagination which is a difficult thing to do; it's easy to waffle on and describe everything in detail which in my opinion bores the reader. Ms Morgan, however, gives just enough which allows the reader to paint a very vivid picture, if the story says the bar the characters are in is sleazy and seedy, then Ms Morgan gives just enough to make you feel it! I really loved this book; the story grabs you from the start and doe...

Release Day Review & Giveaway: Releasing the Wolf (Eye of the Storm #1) by Dianna Hardy

Releasing the Wolf by Dianna Hardy is a passionate paranormal fantasy with an effective build of suspense, drama and sexual tension. It was immediately obvious after reading the first few pages that Releasing the Wolf was going to be a hot read; I just didn't realise how hot and spicy it would be! There are an array of wonderfully crafted and well-developed characters ranging from the independent Lydia to the multitude of sexy men that come into her life. Did I mention how god damn hot they are! Hardy has created an interesting concept for her werewolf book. Whilst it follows several conventions that we'd expect from a shifter book, she has successfully manged to make Releasing the Wolf an original and unique read. The ending is set up beautifully for the next book, one that I'll be clambering to get my hands on.   Goodreads Synopsis Lydia Martin has always had dreams, the weirdest and hottest of them all involving a faceless, muscle-bound man that speaks l...

New Release Review: No Knight Needed (Ever After #1) by Stephanie Rowe

No Knight Needed is contemporary romance at its best. Visualise that checklist; you know the imaginary one that we all have whilst reading. The one that you’re metaphorically ticking off to see if it meets your literary standards! The one that, by the end of the novel, you mull over to see whether or not the book that you’ve spent the last few hours, days, or even weeks reading, has been worth your while. Of course you know the list that I’m refering to. Well, throw the list away. You will not need it with No Knight Needed; it does everything it says on the tin and more! Okay, enough of the clichés, but surely you get the idea! Immediately, Stephanie Rowe throws her readers into the thick of drama. We are greeted with fairly complex, yet deeply human and therefore ‘normal’ characters. Both of the characters, who are quickly established as the two protagonists, Griffin and Clare, clearly are individuals with ‘history’, and what we’re interested in, considering the genre...

Review: Darkness Reborn (Order of the Blade #5) by Stephanie Rowe

Goodreads Synopsis Talismans carved on his body. A lethal darkness amassing inside him. A woman who calls to his spirit on levels so intimate and so passionate that his deadened soul screams in agony. Calydon warrior Kane Santiago has a past he can't remember, and a deadly legacy closing in on him. His only chance is Sarah Burns, a sensual, courageous woman fighting to save herself and her family from an ancient, brutal evil. Sarah is on the verge of losing everything, but she can't afford to trust Kane, who is either the key to her final destruction...or her only chance of survival. Bound together by a connection so deep that it has the power to bring the past and all its nightmares back to life, Kane and Sarah must tap into the hearts they closed down so long ago or lose everything, including their souls. I have loved every single book in this series, but all for different reasons. Yet with Darkness Reborn, Stephanie Rowe has truly out done herself. She's ma...
