Okay so first off, my very first thought regarding this book was near on panic. The very first thing that happens is on December 25th, the couple have just suffered a still birth of their baby girl. Now what makes this so painful is that just a year ago on that very day I lost twin boys. I panicked contacted Bex from Bex n’ Books and she said if I don’t want to continue on then to stop there. But I decided to continue on. I have very mixed feelings about this book. The story doesn’t stay with that couple, but instead jumps years ahead to where they have a baby girl basically delivered to them. And THAT is who the entire story is about. I think the author could have just skipped over the entire beginning since it really had no bearing on the later story. In my opinion, there are few things better than a good shape-shifter story and this book definitely had the makings for that .   In Tasting Fire, Ms Holt takes the reader on an action packed non-traditional adventure into the incredibly secretive world of the Pari, a society of shape-shifting snow leopards that reside in the Himalayas.  Rae Hales is an idealistic brilliant strong-willed scientist that despite her less that Norman Rockwell upbringing is still willing to take a risk and release her "inner vixen" to get the man/snow leopard she wants. Rae makes the perfect heroine to the self-appointed, totally consumed, extremely rich, a bit overbearing, Kai Tenzin. While Kai is extremely attracted to Rae, he is resistant to any relationship because he is completely immersed in the preservation of his people, the Pari and he is "her new boss". Finally it is up to Rae to "convince" him that working together cannot stop their ever growing attract...

Releasing the Wolf by Dianna Hardy is a passionate paranormal fantasy with an effective build of suspense, drama and sexual tension. It was immediately obvious after reading the first few pages that Releasing the Wolf was going to be a hot read; I just didn't realise how hot and spicy it would be! There are an array of wonderfully crafted and well-developed characters ranging from the independent Lydia to the multitude of sexy men that come into her life. Did I mention how god damn hot they are! Hardy has created an interesting concept for her werewolf book. Whilst it follows several conventions that we'd expect from a shifter book, she has successfully manged to make Releasing the Wolf an original and unique read.
