Carmen's story is a complex one in which I feel the writer wrote beautifully. The emotion and self hate the main character feels and works through, often to an emotional overload, is fabulously developed. The author allows the character to see she is still capable of love... Kurt comes into her life at a difficult time for them both, and together, they embrace themselves wholeheartedly and forge a bond unbreakable and durable to the very last breath! I myself nearly climaxed a few times with the descriptive sex scenes.... I was totally absorbed in the moments.... With drugs, abuse, theft, and the law. This is a very very exciting and captivating read. I could not put it down! Another writer to my "must read lists"!
