Review: The Truth (The Descendant Vampire Series, #3 by Kelley Grealis

The Truth (The Descendant Vampire Series, #3 by Kelley Grealis Justine's rating: 4.5 of 5 stars This review took me a while to write because I was both disappointed and in love with it. I love how Kelley went about answering all our questions and resolved all the mysteries. The writing and creative crafting of this paranormal series really made it a beautiful and intense read. My beef was with Allison and the crappy men in her life. Halfway through, I was ready to give up and wanted her to dump both of their dumb butts. Though Angel-Hubby boy did seem to take steps toward being redeemable. I just never felt either deserved her. And that’s all I can say without giving away too much. Other than that, the meat and bones, the story was freaking fantastic and the book really wraps up the series but left a HUGE opening for more. This confused me; the story was just so complete, yet I felt there could be so much more. I did ask and found out there will be a book 4 but there is no ...

Review: Ready to Were - Robyn Peterman

Ready to Were by Robyn Peterman Justine's rating: 5 of 5 stars I bought and read this novella when it originally appeared in the Three Southern Beaches collection released July of 2014. Which is kind of a big deal, because anyone who knows me, knows I hate anthologies. They are never consistent, usually only giving one great story. And this was the standout read in Southern Beaches. This is an extended version of that story. I did reread it for this review, not that it was a hardship. It was just as fabulous the second time. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Robyn Peterman’s raunchy sense of humor and she didn’t disappoint. Though I did not notice any difference from the first time I read it. *shrugs* Still damn good. 5 Raunchy Were-Fairies

Review: Hunted - T.A. Grey

Hunted by T.A. Grey Justine's rating: 4 of 5 stars I knew TA’s books were good. I devoured the Bellum Sisters Series in a day and a half, but damn, can she write. It’s been awhile since I read the last series, so the reminder blew me away. The blurb did not do it justice. I love the historical feel with a modern feminist twist. Penelope will not give up her independence or the dancing she loves. It truly was a fast, fun and frisky read about betrayal, jealousy, romance and true love beating all. 4 Truly Satisfied Fairies

Review: Fashionably Dead - Robyn Peterman

Fashionably Dead by Robyn Peterman Justine's rating: 5 of 5 stars I have said many times before, Bex and I VERY rarely see eye to eye on reads; this is one of those times. Bex was turned off by its similar feel to Mary Janice Davidson’s Undead series, but that’s just what hooked me! Don’t get me wrong, this is NOT that book. IT’S SOOOOO MUCH BETTER! And shakes the MJD feel rather quickly, developing its own amazing identity. I laughed. I cried. I wet my damn pants! If you love raw, witty and sometimes raunchy reads, this is the book for you. 5 Fashionably Funny Fairies.  Always FREE on Amazon HERE!

Review: Blood Moon - J.L. McCoy

Blood Moon by J.L. McCoy Justine's rating: 4 of 5 stars THAT’S IT! JL McCoy is killing me! I am so torn with this one. I was slow to warm. The long wait from last release, I had to relearn just why I love this series, so damn much! But once hooked, I was a goner. Then it was just… OVER! I wanted, I needed more! I NEEDED a resolution and I WANTED it in Dean and Nikki’s POV. It was kind of a let down for a freaking awesome story. This is a must read to move on in the series. And on the DL, I have heard whispers of a Permanent Pack Spin-Off! This reviewer has her kidneys crossed that this piece of gossip comes to life. 4 Seriously Needy Fairies!

Review & Free read: Sweet Addiction - J. Daniels

Sweet Addiction by J. Daniels Justine's rating: 5 of 5 stars ONCE I STARTED, I. COULD. NOT. STOP!! I had a HORRID case of the book-blues that only a hilarious, fun and witty read would cure. But never fear, my bestie came to the rescue, gifting me a copy of Sweet Addiction; and true to its name, I couldn’t put it down. It renewed my faith that Indie Authors are the best, and added yet another name to must read list! Book 2, Sweet Possession is out now and I am dying to find time to devour the tasty treat! 5 Frosting Filled Fairies!

Review: The Vessel (White Aura #2) - Felicia Tatum

The Vessel by Felicia Tatum Reviewer: Justine Rating: 4 Fairies The vessel left me so torn on what to rate it. I had trouble connecting with this instalment I took me a while to figure out why. Felicia pick the story up exactly where it left off, with no revisit of details of book 1, The White Aura; she jumped right into the action. Which is not a bad thing at all but it leaves you a little lost and disconnected when you haven't read the first book in so long. I really believe if I had read them back to back I would've felt more connected with the characters. After about halfway through Miss Tatum found her way back into my heart, only to hit me with a major Justine No-No! Our naughty Felicia gave me one hell of a cliffhangover! In book one she put a perfect period to the story leaving salivating for more. This time story just stopped!! Not ended, Stopped. I felt no conclusion at all!!! I guess is a simple solution to all this, be sure to reread The White Aura and ha...

Release Day Review: Holding Out - Lila Rose

Reviewer: Justine Rating: 5 out of 5 Fairies If Kristen Ashley and Madeline Sheehan had an illegitimate love-child, she’d go by the name of Lila Rose. This book contains so much that I love: alpha male, motorcycle-riding hotness mixed with liberal amounts of gritty real life action and foul-mouthed humor. SERIOUSLY! All of this on one hefty amazing book. If you're the type of stick in the mud to find offence with certain words, for certain body parts, this is NOT the books for you. Lila was born with a mouth on her that would make a seasoned prostitute blush! And I loved every second I read. Her ending was Justine approved. Giving us an HEA that was well earned by the characters. She really put the poor things through the ringer! I can't wait to see what she has planned for book two Climbing Out ETA Spring 2014.   I'm giving FIVE Fabulously Foul-Mouthed Fairies!

Release Reviews & Giveaway: Alive - Megan D. Martin & Theirs to Play - Kenya Wright

Kenya Wright & Megan D. Martin are giving away all kinds of goodies in celebration of releasing their new novels including a  $100  Amazon GC, over 35 different  ebooks  by some awesome authors, and a free  cover design  by J Sheats.  Reviewer: Justine Rating: 5 out of 5 Fairies Oh Ms. Wright, how I love and hate you right now! Theirs To Play is a book about two deprived, narcissistic, soulless brothers learning about life and the woman who doles out the lessons. And I love every glorious dirty-sexy second of it! Think modern Cruel Intentions but with brothers. Reading how Dawn schools this naughty twosome made this one of my favorite books of the year! But Miss Wright, I am a stickler for endings and yours has me torn. I hate how the story just ends with what felt like a minimal conclusion, but damn, does this woman know how to write one mean epilogue! Kenya had me salivating for what would come next and ready to take a bite out of her a...

Review: Revelation of Blood - JL McCoy

Reviewer: Justine Rating: 4 out of 5 Fairies Revelation of Blood is book 5 of the Skye Morrison Vampire Series, as with all long running series’s u eventually hit what I call the Filler Book. Now don’t freak, this is a good thing! A Filler Book dose just that. It FILLS in the gaps, answers plaguing questions, and usually give the reader a feeling of conclusion to this current phase of the main characters life in order to move on to the next. Revelation felt like a Filler Book to me. Book 5 gave us a little less action and naughtiness and a LOT more answers, understanding, and emotional healing. The timing seemed perfect, after the first 4 books I was starting to feel a bit angsty for answers. JL McCoy was able to smoothly sooth this with an informative and resolving story line. Now comes the downer. Miss McCoy is no stranger to leaving us swinging off her Mt. Everest of cliffhangers, but this time was different. Of course she gave us her usual slow, sweet, suspenseful buil...

Review & Giveaway: Dreams, Spells and Moonlight - Amy K. McClung

Reviewer: Justine Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Fairies  Dreams, Spells, and Moonlight is book two of the Parker Harris Series, but I had to read book one Cascades of Moonlight first. This series embodies YA, giving us all the hallmarks of an EPIC Paranormal YA Read! Vampires, Witches, and Werewolves, OH MY!!! Angst Ridden Characters Lie, Deceit, and Heartbreak, and last, but by no means least, Soul Mates and Love Triangles All these must-haves are wrapped in a beautiful but unassuming cover. As for endings, well let’s just say I was booking a flight till I saw that book three, The Dark Moon, was to be released that week! (now released, I recommend being ready to buy immediately after finishing DSM!) I got to the last page and had the mother of all WTF! Moments!!! I’m giving 4.5 fairies!

Review: Loving Liberty - Belinda Boring

Reviewer: Justine Rating: 5 out of 5 Fairies Knowing Belinda Boring’s work, I knew Loving Liberty would be a good read. What I was NOT expecting though was for it to blow me away!!! This is Belinda Boring’s first venture into the contemporary romance genre. Having concurred Paranormal Romance with her swoon-worthy series, The Mystic Wolves, I knew she could give an amazing action packed alpha read, but Loving Liberty was none of that. Miss Boring was able to turn off her paranormal roots and give us a true contemporary read. The character development and depth of the relationships made some of the best writing I have seen. Yes, she added a lil action, but the real story was in the characters personalities and how they related to one another. It was a truly beautiful tale. As for the ending, you all know I try to write my reviews without SPOILERS. So all I will only say is that the ending put a period to the story, and the Countess of Cliffhangers gave us a reprieve……………...

Review: Spellbound - Cara Lynn Shultz

Reviewer: Justine Rating: 5 out of 5 Fairies Miss Shultz had me just as her title promised, Spellbound. Cara Lynn Shultz gave us a beautifully written and timeless YA read.  I sent the following message to Bex upon finishing:  "Just finished, it was fantastic! Think cursed modern day Romeo and Juliet who relive their tragedy over and over as reincarnated soul-mates, with a slice of witchyness on the side." She responded that it sounded tragic. I guess it very well COULD have followed that line, but Cara was able to balance the heavy and sad storyline with enough wit, humor and action to prevent just that. That leaves The Ending, which was amazing, action packed, and left me with my favorite book feeling, ‘concluded’. With of course an opening for more! I am picky (shut up Bex and let me finish) …… with my ratings, I was going to give Spellbound a 4.5 due to overwhelming awesomeness, but as I write this review, I find myself wanting to reread it all ov...

Blog Hop Review & Giveaway: Testing Fate - Belinda Boring

Reviewer: Justine Rating: 5 out of 5 Fairies I’m TEMPORARILY calling off the lynch mob... for now. After finishing Testing Fate, I have a few monikers of my own for the “Queen of Swoon”: Sire of Suspense  Countess of Cliffhanger  Administer of Emotional Torture  But all kidding aside, I’m very happy with this latest installment of the Mystic Wolves. Once again, Belinda Boring did not screw around by going straight to the meat of the story and leaving out any unnecessary filler or fluff.  Though, never fear, the Queen of the Cliffhanger will continue her rein, but Miss Boring did me right this time. I felt the conclusion in this book, and the cliffhanger were not nearly as death defying as those in the past. I’m actually extremely excited for what’s next in store for Mason and Darcy! 5 flipping fairies!

Review: Heart Raider - Sophia Knightly

Reviewer: Justine Rating: 4 out of 5 Fairies I am coming to learn that I can depend on Sophia to give me the Classic Contemporary Romances I love! Once again, she proves this true in Heart Raider. Sophia Knightly seems to have an endless imagination that supplies us with storylines that both capture our hearts with true love and teaches us of deceit, heartbreak and forgiveness. As for the Ending, well it was my favorite kind; A Happy Ending! (Boy you all have filthy minds!) Ms Knightly has a way writing HEAs that leave you sighing with happiness for her characters. I am giving Sophia Knightly's first installment of the Heartthrob Series a 4 fluttering fairies!

Review: A Night of Wickedness (The Wicked Ways #1) - JD Nelson

Reviewer: Justine Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Fairies A Night of Wickedness by JD Nelson Wow, I am ALMOST at a loss to describe this book to you, but alas I found my words in the end. I was expecting a short, HOT, steamy paranormal read, what I got was SOOOO much more! With love, deceit, betrayal and heartbreak, this book was NOT the average Erotica read. JD made A Night of Wickedness almost feel like a modern day Wuthering Heights! Giving us characters that are continually hurting one another over misunderstandings, revenge or just to ease their own pain and suffering. The ending was both amazing and broke my heart. With book two, ‘Wolves Will Be Wolves’ out August 2013, I am on Fang and claws in anticipation! 4.5 fanged fairies!!!

Blog Tour Review & Giveaway: No Brainer - A.J. Lape

We are uber excited to be taking part in AJ Lape's NO BRAINER Tour. Not only is she an extra special author loved dearly by Bex 'n' Books, but she's an amazing writer and super beautiful person. Yes, it's safe to say we regularly have fangirl moments whenever AJ Lape is the topic of conversation. Reviewer: Justine Rating: 5 out of 5 Fairies I stumbled upon AJ Lape and her first book Grade ‘A’ Stupid a little over 6 months ago by sheer luck and chance. Winning an e-copy from a random caption contest, that is still to this day my best win ever! Not only did I win a book I have reread over and over again, but a friendship of a lifetime with an author who is honestly cares for her readers. Review: Croak by Gina Damico

Reviewer: Justine Rating: 4.5 out of 5 fairies Croak by Gina Damico was so much more than I expected! Gina Damico grants us a hilarious and extremely witty read. Even though I was dying of laughter (pun intended), Gina still managed to endear me to the story as a whole, so much so that I had tears of sadness flowing just as hard. The author creates a well thought out paranormal world, down to the smallest details. It was a completely different reaper story than any I have come across before. Though I hate to see it end, all good things must. Gina Damico once again did not disappoint, giving a feeling of completion and a look at what was to come for our friends from Croak. Justine

Review: The White Aura by Felicia Tatum

Reviewer: Justine Rating: 4 out of 5 fairies The White Aura by Felicia Tatum is a wonderful start to a new YA series. Felicia Tatum even used a side of paranormal rarely seen, Sorcerers!  She successfully creates a love triangle, drama, and suspense, all while keeping an almost seamless flow with 2 POVS. I was also treated to a beautifully crafted ending. The ending put a period on this installment, and left me wondering about the next. A solid 4 fairies.

Review: Miss Match (Lauren Holbrook #1) by Erynn Mangum

Reviewer: Justine Rating: 4 out of 5 Fairies Miss Match is a Christian romance. To be honest, I really didn’t think I was going to like it, but Erynn Mangum surprised me with this absolutely amazing read!
