Review: Lost in Prophecy - S.M. Reine

Lost in Prophecy by S.M. Reine Lynn's rating: 4 of 5 stars Elsie, a demon, is running hell. Things aren't going so great. Someone has betrayed her and someone is trying to assassinate her. Elsie is trying to free human slaves from hell. When she receives a message about the disappearance of three thousand people, she discovers that the werewolves may be behind the disappearances. Sallosa attempts to kill Elsie and fails but he does end up doing damage to her. Rylie, the packleader, is having problems of her own, someone is betraying her and her mate is missing. The friendship between Elsie and Rylie seemed so unlikely but yet it works. I have to say the book is action packed and there is so much going on at times it seemed hard to keep up. Yet it holds your attention. Between Elsie and James there seemed like something more should be going on, but I guess they have to much history to get passed. He has betrayed her to many times. At times, it is hard to figure who is on ...

Review: Silver Bullet - S.M. Reine

Silver Bullet by S.M. Reine Lynn rating: 5 of 5 stars Cesar Hawke is assigned to a new team, for a man used to hunting witches this one is a little out of his comfort zone. Fritz the leader of the team is knowledgeable about demons, but the other three, Cesar, Suzy and Isobel aren't so lucky. They are a more learn as you go. The group is sent to Reno to investigate the cause of spike in infernal energy. They have to enter the demon owned casino Cravens. The story is action- packed with a lot of funny moments. At times, it seems like Cesar is just bumbling along and others is almost seems like it has got it all together. Between demons, werewolves and really large spiders the team has their work cut out for them. The cast of supporting characters is wonderful and makes you want to know what their story is. The story line keeps moving along at a great pace and enough back ground is given on the agency you can follow along. Given this is a prequel to the other books in the series you...

Review: Death's Hand (Descent #1) by S.M. Reine

Goodreads Synopsis Policing relations between Heaven, Hell, and Earth is messy and violent, but Elise Kavanagh and James Faulkner excelled at it-- until coming across a job so brutal that even they couldn't stand to see one more dead body. Now they've been pretending to be normal for five years, leaving their horrific history a dark secret. Elise works in an office. James owns a business. None of their friends realize they used to be one of the world's best killing teams. After years of hiding, something stirs. Bodies are vanishing. Demons scurry in the shadows of the night. A child has been possessed. Some enemies aren't willing to let the secrets of the past stay dead... It was so very refreshing to read a novel with a strong female protagonist, one that wasn't bogged down by romance. Don't get me wrong, there's an element of romance in Death's Hand, but it didn't drive the story which I really liked. There are several twists in the plo...
