Review & Giveaway: Truth and Lies Past and Present by Katherine Rochholz

Goodreads Synopsis Katherine Lillian Fitz had only known one type of world... one of hard living on the streets. Then she finds out she is a witch. Now she is thrown into a new world, her world, and for once she thought life would be better. But she was wrong. A dark force is out to kill her, and she is shocked to her core when she finds out how important to her life this person is. Will she be able to come out the victor with her innocence intact or will she once and for all lose the young innocence she has even though she had lived on the cold hard streets of New York? Only time will tell... Truth and Lies Past and Present is a lovely read complete with a collection of well-developed and described characters. I liked the mixture of childhood innocence with real-life issues, all tied together in a big ball of magic. I love fantasy reads, and whilst I enjoyed this as an adult reader, I do think it will be appreciated more by a younger reader. So, armed with my ‘teacher-head’...

Review: Becoming by RM Gilmore

Goodreads Synopsis "I'm Sharlene Carolynn Diamond Russell, but most folks around Havana call me Lynnie. I want to tell you about the day a chance encounter changed my life forever. From a few sweet smooches to gut churning transformations, this is the story of the events that led to my Becoming." Country girl paranormal novella trilogy from author R.M. Gilmore (author of the Dylan Hart Odyssey of The Occult series). A new twist on an old classic. Havana, Arkansas it's the picture of mystics and magic, but Lynnie Russell learns quickly you can't judge a book by it's cover. I’m really starting to love novellas. Seriously, it’s almost instant satisfaction. It doesn’t take too long to reach the end and have that lovely glowy feeling you get from completing a really good read. And it’s thanks to such wonderful authors, like RM Gilmore, who have mastered the art of writing a short story (107 pages) in such a manner that makes it feel as though you’ve read a...

Review : The Scene by RM Gilmore

Goodreads Synopsis "It did seem a little ridiculous that two female reporters were headed off to solve a crime that no detective could. The entire thing began to sound like a cheesy made for TV movie, where good defeats evil, and all is well. I still wasn't one-hundred percent sure what the evil was in this story, and if I was the good, how the hell was I supposed to defeat it. A stake and hammer might do the trick." In the opening novel of R.M. Gilmore's 'Odyssey of the Occult' series, entitled "The Scene", we find Dylan Hart in her hometown of Hollywood, California. The bodies of seven exsanguinated prostitutes have been found from the Central Valley to Southern California. The media has dubbed them the "Vampire Massacres". Dylan has decided to cash in on the tragedy and write a true crime novel. She begins her odyssey with research into the underground vampire lifestyle. All seemed to be going as planned, and as long as fiction can ke...

Yes, regularly giveaways in addition to our rafflecopter. So make sure you don't miss out and visit our Facebook page regularly. Yesterday we had Part 1 of our author interview, so today it's part 2! Go figure :) Read & enjoy getting to know RM Gilmore that little bit better. How long does it take you to write a book ? It took me four years to complete the first Dylan (The Scene) from first notes to publication. It only took me four months to write the new Lynnie Russell book though( a much smaller novella style book). I never really thought I’d do anything with Dylan Hart. I always thought she’d just be a fun character my friends and I could talk about like she was one of us. But when I actually finished it and I let people read it I found out it was actually pretty funny. I think publishing...

Review: Damon (#1 The Protectors Series) by Teresa Gabelman

Reviewer: Bex Rating: 5 out of 5 I immediately liked the main female character Nicole. She's very easy to like with her very quick and easy comebacks, no-nonsense attitude and her compassion. I love a strong female protagonist, and with Nicole, she easily fits the mould. It was with the introduction of her character, that I knew that 'Damon' was going to be a book that would keep me hooked. What I didn't quite realise, was just how hooked I would be. I read 'Damon' in just one sitting; it was that good. 'Damon' was so very easy to read, to devour almost, I wanted my fill, especially when I was introduced to the devastatingly gorgeous Damon himself. Yes, I officially have a new crush! Damon, a vampire and a warrior, is so very beautiful, in so many ways. The way that the relationship develops with Nicole is very powerfully described; Teresa captures their feelings, their passion, their heart break so beautifully. I cried in two separa...
