Goodreads Synopsis Do or Die... In a world that has been divided amongst the Hunter race and the Warrior, prisoners who have fallen prey to King Cyrus' decrees are forced into the arena to fight until death. Winner is granted mercy and privilege to see another sunrise. Death unto the weak. In an attempt to get back at everyone who has ever shut her out, seventeen year-old Princess Echo becomes another victim, dragging Ayden, her forbidden love, along in a race to freedom, to find out who she really is, and to put a world that has been swallowed by lies back together again. When death threatens the forbidden love of an unlikely couple and they are forced to do the unthinkable, to what extent will they go to be together?   Before we get to the review, I would like to say a huge thank you to Nadège for providing this eARC to Bex 'n' Books. I'd also like to introduce one of our two new reviewers Kay. I have yet to read this book; it honestly pains me to admit this, a...

Review: Becoming by RM Gilmore

Goodreads Synopsis "I'm Sharlene Carolynn Diamond Russell, but most folks around Havana call me Lynnie. I want to tell you about the day a chance encounter changed my life forever. From a few sweet smooches to gut churning transformations, this is the story of the events that led to my Becoming." Country girl paranormal novella trilogy from author R.M. Gilmore (author of the Dylan Hart Odyssey of The Occult series). A new twist on an old classic. Havana, Arkansas it's the picture of mystics and magic, but Lynnie Russell learns quickly you can't judge a book by it's cover. I’m really starting to love novellas. Seriously, it’s almost instant satisfaction. It doesn’t take too long to reach the end and have that lovely glowy feeling you get from completing a really good read. And it’s thanks to such wonderful authors, like RM Gilmore, who have mastered the art of writing a short story (107 pages) in such a manner that makes it feel as though you’ve read a...

Review : The Scene by RM Gilmore

Goodreads Synopsis "It did seem a little ridiculous that two female reporters were headed off to solve a crime that no detective could. The entire thing began to sound like a cheesy made for TV movie, where good defeats evil, and all is well. I still wasn't one-hundred percent sure what the evil was in this story, and if I was the good, how the hell was I supposed to defeat it. A stake and hammer might do the trick." In the opening novel of R.M. Gilmore's 'Odyssey of the Occult' series, entitled "The Scene", we find Dylan Hart in her hometown of Hollywood, California. The bodies of seven exsanguinated prostitutes have been found from the Central Valley to Southern California. The media has dubbed them the "Vampire Massacres". Dylan has decided to cash in on the tragedy and write a true crime novel. She begins her odyssey with research into the underground vampire lifestyle. All seemed to be going as planned, and as long as fiction can ke...

Go figure :) Read & enjoy getting to know RM Gilmore that little bit better. How long does it take you to write a book ? It took me four years to complete the first Dylan (The Scene) from first notes to publication. It only took me four months to write the new Lynnie Russell book though( a much smaller novella style book). I never really thought I’d do anything with Dylan Hart. I always thought she’d just be a fun character my friends and I could talk about like she was one of us. But when I actually finished it and I let people read it I found out it was actually pretty funny. I think publishing...
