In a world where magic flows like blood and ancient creatures walk among mortals, Emer will need more than courage to survive—she'll need to embrace the power that has always lived within her.

My clan—destroyed. My parents—murdered. All that remains is grief and a burning thirst for vengeance. With only my beloved housekeeper, Evelyn, as family, I form an uneasy alliance with the White Wolf—a powerful enigma with motives shrouded in darkness.

When Evelyn is kidnapped and left bleeding under the Wolf's watch, my trust shatters completely. I flee to Amergin—once my enemy, now my reluctant sanctuary—and tumble into a vortex of ancient magic and lethal secrets.

As my dormant powers surge to life and unwanted feelings for the tattooed sorcerer emerge, I face brutal truths about loyalty and identity. Amergin’s glowing tattoos promise both salvation and doom. Joseph, an ancient vampire, watches from the shadows, his allegiance uncertain.

With enemies closing in and Evelyn fading, I must choose: the Wolf who betrayed me, the sorcerer with arcane skin, or the hollow-cheeked vampire with calculating eyes. My awakening powers reveal a chilling truth—revenge demands a price paid in blood.

In this world where magic pulses through veins and immortals walk among us, survival demands more than courage—it requires embracing the darkness that has always lived within me.

The White Wolf’s Woe is the second book in the intense Dragon Fire and Druids romantasy series.

He threw the furs around me more tightly for a few minutes, wrapping one arm under my head, around my back, and the other resting against my waist.

I couldn’t complain.

But still, I mentally kicked myself for wishing it was all different. I would give anything to have this man hold me like this under normal circumstances. As it was, there was nothing easy about our relationship, a feeling that was mutual in the tension that now filled the small amount of air between us.

But didn’t Amergin make me feel similarly?

He did, and it was frustrating and exhausting. To pine for both of them and me, all the while, the chasm that grew between us got more prominent the longer we played this game.

The dusting of hair on his remarkable pecs made my fingers itch to explore even as they burned with the heat suffusing them now. Gods, I hadn't even remembered how cold I was, and now that I lay here, I was so tired. It was only morning still, and we hadn't had a fire, so there was no coffee, only the cold water skins kept unfrozen on the packs left on Saio.

He pulled me in closer until my breath circulated back to me, bouncing off that unbearably large chest. The hair tickled my face where his shirt was open at the top, and I caved. Burrowing my head deeper into the crook of his shoulder, I rested my cheek on that chest, grief mingling with the relief of his hold.

Review: Embraced (Enduring Kiss #4) - C.E. Black

Embraced by C.E. Black Ann's rating: 5 of 5 stars Read as a standalone.  This is a fantastic book. It is an easy read but don’t start reading it too late at night or you will probably end up with a book hangover. It is very difficult to put down. Sean is a lost wolf. The woman he loves has married another man, and he is heartbroken. To relieve his suffering, he decides to get out of town and have a drink or two, then he meets Sarah. Sarah is a business owner of a bakery called Decadent Delights and her life seems to be going just the way she wants…until she meets Sean at the bar. Instantly there is an overwhelming attraction and she takes him home with her. Hot animalistic sex occurs (pun intended since Sean is a werewolf). But Sean leaves after one night. He can’t stay because Sarah is human and humans don’t mate with wolves. Two months later, Sarah has a major surprise and goes looking for Sean. And then the fun really begins. This story has sorrow, angst, anger but als...

Reviewer: Em Rating: 5/5 Wow, oh wow!! This book  didn’t disappoint me one iota. I opened to the first page to be induced and transported back into the world of Caleb, Olivia, Jax and Gemma. I started to read and couldn’t put the book down. I wasn’t surprised as I had had the same experience with the first two books, the storyline wrapped around me and enfolded me thoroughly taking me on the journey.
