The past never stays buried…
A month has passed since the Eve Murders and my Awakening that cost me my sight. While I have learned to use the Astral Sight as my guide around the world, I am still reeling from the traumatic events of the battle between Obsidian Moon’s Crymsen Crescent and the Ragnar Circle.
While we have Regina Reuel, the figurative head of the Circle, in custody, there are still many unanswered questions about the Circle’s motives. I have finally returned to the field as an active member of the Crymsen Crescent thanks to physical therapy with my mate Arawn Grey and my captain, the dragon prince, Casimir Lorcan.
But the peace in Paradise Grove doesn’t last long as hellhounds are going missing and turning up as charred corpses in Southside. Although this district has always been a dangerous part of town, the amount of violence is not only worrisome but familiar as a copy-cat revives the Wolf of Eden, the monster of Paradise Grove.
The second installment of the Crymsen Crescent Trilogy, A Roar of Flames, will have you turning the pages to solve pieces of Luce’s past.

Book One Review
With such an incredible start to an urban fantasy series, I have high hopes for Crymsen Crescent. From the first page, we're sucked into the fantasy world through the eyes of Luce, a reformed killer with pretty phenomenal powers.
In her journey of helping the local police investigate the string of murders, we dip into her past, which helps us connect with the main character and begin to understand her plight. The hardships she's faced and facing, go a long way in helping the reader connect with her character, so much so it's impossible not to feel compassion for the injustice of it all.
With a strong voice and a personality easy to like, Luce's journey continues to get a little trickier and most definitely interesting. The romance subplot is well weaved through the pages, and I'm so happy it developed the way it did. There were some definite swoon-worthy moments there.
I can't wait to read book two and follow the action as she follows a new path and navigates life with her new love too.
A highly entertaining and original read, that's well crafted and creative.

Avery Kilpatrick was born in Flowood, Mississippi, in April 1996. Raised in a small town in the Mississippi Delta, she has a fondness for nature and the cotton fields that create Southern snow pastures in the fall. After writing her first novel when she was thirteen, Avery decided to pursue her dream as an author at a young age.
An alumnus of Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi, Avery graduated with a Bachelor’s in English. She also worked on the student-run newspaper, The Delta Statement, during her four-year career at Delta State as a copy-editor and Editor-in-Chief.
Avery currently lives in a ranch-style home in her hometown in Mississippi. The mother of three fur babies, Cinnamon the spoiled cat and Remington a.k.a. Remi the service dog, Avery has enough fur from shedding animals to make a third pet. When Avery isn’t busy writing her next novel, she goes on walks with her mother and dog, watches Outlander or Criminal Minds on Netflix, or can be found curled up on the couch with Cinnamon reading a good book.
