Review: Dante's Amulet by Melinda De Ross

Dante's Amulet (Coriola, #2)Dante's Amulet by Melinda De Ross

Now I love a story where the chick is a bad a$$. Not that I don’t love a story where the guy saves the girl, but it’s nice to read one where you know the chick can throw a right hook and take apart a gun. It just makes me all excited as a reader and you know the story is going to be good. And this story was. It was exciting and captivating. You wanted to be Sonia. Even if she had to defend her choice of occupations (she worked with guns, teaching people who wanted to go pro how to shoot) she stood to her ground. She didn’t care if you didn’t like it, she did. Now her and Giovanni had chemistry. Neither of them could see themselves having anything long term, but you get to see them falling in love. But it wasn’t just a love story, There were so many twists and turns. It really built up the suspense so that the love interest was just icing on the cake.

Dante's Amulet (Coriola, #2)

by
Italian businessman Giovanni Coriola and English target-shooting trainer Sonia Galsworthy have only two things in common—a sizzling chemistry and no desire for commitment. When they meet in London, the world starts spinning faster and they quickly become addicted to each other. The incendiary passion between them skyrockets into smoldering, once-in-a-lifetime love.

Just as they thought they had things settled, a strange discovery triggers a mysterious spiral of events that puts their lives in danger more than once, with no apparent reason.
What connection could there be between an ancient amulet, a secret society and the long-dead poet Dante Alighieri? A sinister, complicated conspiracy that gradually catches up with the characters. And of course, one last twist before the ending.

*Dante's Amulet is the sister-story of Mirage Beyond Flames.
