Whenever I walked into a room, I tried and make myself scarce because it was just too fucking hard for me not to look at her. I tried not to think of what I’d like to do to her, not to stare at her and see the woman she had become. “Riccardo!” Nonna yelled. “Don’t think I didn’t see you take one of my zeppole. I have eyes everywhere you know. I see everything, Riccardo.”
What the fuck did she mean by that? What did she see? What did she know? No way did she know about me hungering for Lorena. Only Stefano knew and that was only because I was drunk and completely incoherent one night.
