1. Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m a disabled veteran enjoying the country life, who enjoys making up stories, reading and watching cartoons. Although I write romantic suspense, I devour Scottish historical romances. I live near family with three cats. I know, crazy cat lady. Almost. I’m not there yet. The two neighborhood cats I feed outside can't be considered mine.
2. How did you come up with the title of your book?
After I decided on naming the group H.I.S. (Hamilton Investigation and Security, Inc), the idea of starting each novel with HIS in all caps came to me. Then, the rest of the title fit the Hamilton brother's challenge for that book.
3. With each book that you write, your skills are improving; (of course!!) What do you want to see you push yourself to do in the upcoming books? More intrigue? More erotic sex? Mystery? (question added by HIS Hot Heroines, Sheila's street team)
I’d like to add more of all three. While I hope to create hotter sex scenes, since it is romantic suspense first, I’d love more intrigue and mystery. Mostly, I’d love to see more dangerous situations for my hero to rescue my heroine. I know, that’s horrible, but it’s how my mind works.
4. Do you like to believe that you are in your own story? That you, yourself, are a character. (question added by HIS Hot Heroines, Sheila's street team)
I don’t see myself as a character, but I have added things that are me such as my favorite fragrances, my relaxing rituals (I do own a burgundy throw) and my pets, current and past – Dottie in HIS Desire and Bob in HIS Choice. I do believe I gave both Kate and Megan my stubbornness.
5. Describe your main character in five words.
AJ goes through a great deal of changes in this book so this combination of those emotional changes may seem odd.

6. Can you share a little of your current work with us?
I've only created an outline of HIS Return (An H.I.S. Novel). I'm still working on a few things that have prevented me from writing yet as they impact the first few chapters. Give me a week or so. In this novel, the foster brother Jake Cavanaugh suddenly appears and reluctantly returns to the family, finding himself protecting the Hamilton baby sister, Emily and her daughter. A daughter he was unaware he had. Expect more of the H.I.S. team in this one, and I'm bringing them to my hometown. Well, town next to me. I used to live there. There is a great deal of stress between Jake and the brothers so it will be interesting.
7. Have you ever done anything strange or weird in the name of research?
No, but I came close. I couldn't acquire a meeting with the local FBI office. Their PR only sent me some information and referred me to their website. Here, the FBI and US marshals are in the same building. After I met with a marshal (they were more agreeable), I came close to sneaking in the FBI office to gain an interview. Their door had a cipher to enter so I waited outside the door. The FBI agent that exited first was not at all friendly, and a bit scary, so I didn't even ask. I left - swiftly. Of course, there are the searches on my computer that should have the police on my doorstep.
8. Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
Yes. Readers, I write for you. I am always open to your feedback on my books, current and future. If I don't please you, I am not doing my job. Also, I'd love your reviews on Amazon as it helps me in my journey.
