Review: Man of My Dreams By Faith Andrews

Man of My Dreams by Faith Andrews Georgie's rating: 3.5 of 5 stars This is a romance about Mia Page and the journey from High School to her early thirties. It starts off with a teenage Mia who has a humongous crush on Noah Matheson and goes from there. However, the story doesn’t just plod through her life, from chapter to chapter. It skips from teenage Mia, to housewife with two kids Mia married to gorgeous Declan Murphy and living with the pressures of married life and that undiscovered territory of what could have been. Throughout the book, I was hot and cold. I found it to be too long and wasn’t always appreciative of the flashbacks though they were necessary for the story to unfold and for the reader to understand where the characters were coming from. My gripe is they could have been shorter and sharper. However, though I had these reservations, I was compelled to keep reading. It was an easy read as it was well written with some powerful scenes (including those under ...

Tour Review & Giveaway: Uncomplicated - Dawn Robertson & Jo-Anna Walker

Bex's Review Rating: 4 out of 5  Uncomplicated proved to be an enjoyable and entertaining read. It took me a little while to warm up to the book and the characters, but after four chapters, I settled into the pace. Uncomplicated is more that a sex story. Don't get me wrong, it's a hot and sexy read, but the characters are well-defined and developed. With the strong and very vocal characters, Uncomplicated held its own as a solid novel within the contemporary erotic romance genre. There's was an interesting and entertaining storyline and the dynamics between the two main characters were fabulously funny. The authors have managed to create three-dimensional characters for sure. Three days a week I work your everyday nine-to-five. The paperwork is never-ending. The pay is mediocre, and the office drama is simply intolerable. But the other four days a week, I am my own boss.  My name is Jennifer Sunshine and I am a Vegas Call Girl.  My clients ra...

Double Review: Sweet Temptation & Sweet Surrender by Angel Steel

Sweet Surrender by Angel Steel Sarah Jane's rating: 5 of 5 stars What can I say about these two books, Sweet Surrender and Sweet Temptation? Well, for one, they REALLY kept me hooked; I mean for 23 hours my kindle never left my hand. I even fell asleep with it in my hand. They are hot, steamy and actually quite accurate which makes me wonder if our author is a submissive??? Also, how much does this story frustrate me beyond belief? How much upset can these characters have, but I love the books soooo much more because it isn't all happily ever after. These are two of the most amazing books I have read in so long that I can and will now stalk this author for the rest of her life... joking! No, seriously, my honest review is I love this series and am totally hooked. What a talented author Angel Steel is. Thank you for the book equivalent of chocolate!

Review: Lunden's Game - Robert D. Rose

Lunden's Game by Robert D. Rose Ann's rating: 5 of 5 stars I loved this book from the first chapter. You get sucked in to the story from the second page and it doesn’t let go. There are spies, robberies, cool electronics and mystery. You also have Nazi’s, government agencies and all sorts of wonderful bad guys. The story isn’t straightforward but instead takes unexpected twists and turns and I loved it. This is not a book you are going to figure out before the end and that makes it a true treat. Lunden is a complicated and interesting character with a lot of past and an uncertain future. He has lived his life and you realize that you won’t ever really know him. But that doesn’t matter. He is totally engaging. And then there’s David, who is completely over his head, but such an important part of the total story. I want you to understand just how low my tolerance is for bad spy stories is. I have a list of them that I will never try to read again because I figured out th...

Review: Finding Mother - Anne Allen

Finding Mother by Anne Allen Ann's rating: 4 of 5 stars Nicole is a woman in her thirties whose husband has proven unfaithful…again. She knows she is adopted and decides that this is the time to find out who she really is and what she wants out of her life. So she finds her birth mother and her journey begins. This is an absolutely lovely story about family, adoption and secrets and how they’re passed down from generation to generation. This story made me cry and made me wistful. It also made me smile and feel hope. I am not very good at geography, but Anne’s descriptions made me feel like I could see the islands and the landscapes she describes, down to the lovely gardens and beaches. Overall, this is a terrific story and very poignant. It is definitely on my “recommend to friends” list. Finding Mother by   Anne Allen   (Goodreads Author) Prepare to be swept away by a heart-warming tale of family relationships and love.  Three women. Three generations. ...
