Review: Corruption of the Soul by J.L. Vallance

Corruption of the Soul (The Guild Series, #0.5)Corruption of the Soul by J.L. Vallance
Bex's rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

Aedan and Evangeline are such an amazing couple to follow. Both characters are extremely well formed and created; this meant that getting up close and personal with them in Corruption of the Soul was a treat.

For a short, there was fabulous sense of completion and a solid narrative structure. This ensured that I was left feeling content with the length, especially considering the level of depth, power and passion evident in both of these characters and the narrative detail.

Once again, J.L. Vallance has produced a read that I loved.

"Love conquers all--but sometimes, it destroys everything you are."
It's a story that's been told since the dawn of time.
Boy meets girl.
They fall madly in love, for happiness is written in the stars.
Their one true fate is to have happily ever after at their fingertips.
But what if it's not?
What if every chance encounter is really a carefully orchestrated meeting
pushing you toward a greater purpose? A purpose that you've spent your entire
existence fighting against?
Boy meets girl.
They fall madly in love.
But they'll never come close to happily ever after, for pain and devastation is what is truly written as their destiny. All he wants is to feel power and all she wants is to feel complete.
Together, Aedan and Evangeline create a love big enough to bring about the destruction of humanity, as well as themselves.

I started to read and couldn’t put the book down. I wasn’t surprised as I had had the same experience with the first two books, the storyline wrapped around me and enfolded me thoroughly taking me on the journey.

Confessions of a Paris Party Girl by Vicki Lesage Lynn's rating: 4 of 5 stars Vicky needed a change from her mid-western life. Well what's a girl to do except move to Paris. After back-packing through Europe during collage breaks she wanted to try living there. Where better way to continue with her love affair with wine. This book was smart, sassy and fun. Trying to live in a new city with basic French, having to make all new friends and still have the time of your life. Everything from finding her apartment the first time to placing adds for meeting friends, Vicki turns it into an adventure. you feel as if you are on the journey with her. She takes you to places most people will never get to see and gives you such a vivid accounting of them you can picture them in your mind. Some of the situations she finds herself in has your giggling out loud. it is such a wonderful accounting of everyday Paris life. The book was one of the better chick lit books I have read in a long...
