Day 23 is upon us, and we are all things R.M Gilmore today. R.M is one of my besties. She's an author with an amazing talent. Her humour, sassiness, and general kick-ass nature are just some of the reasons why I love this woman. Yep, I'd consider selling my soul, or maybe a kidney to help this woman out. Her Dylan Hart series just keeps getting better, and with book three heading toward a finish date, I can't wait to get caught up in all things Dylan Hart.

In The Scene, we are introduced to the memorable character Dylan Hart. ‘Memorable, why’s that?’ do I hear you ask? Is it because she has superpowers, or she is remarkably charming or even is it because she is the epitome of all that is physically beautiful in a woman? Well no!

What we have with Dylan is a remarkable young woman who is so unbelievably funny and most definitely human, with human doubts about her image and her life, as well as a foul-mouth to boot! I loved Dylan’s character. She is so very fascinating. I was drawn to her immediately, even more so than that of the two tasty male characters that appear in The Scene. The one-liners that she says, her reactions and responses are roll of the floor and cross your legs together funny.

RM Gilmore, the author, has done a remarkable job with the creation of her female lead Dylan. Dylan drips with sarcasm, wit and believable responses, ones that you wish you’d say if you had enough time to think about it. Likewise, the secondary characters Tatum, Mike and Cyrus are equally well-developed and entertaining characters. The dynamics between the characters are very amusing and crafted.

The plot as a whole was interesting and the concept for the storyline refreshing. RM Gilmore truly has produced a cracker of a novel. It is the dialogue and characters that really make this novel a fantastic fun read; they really push the story along.

Overall, yes, I loved Dylan. The novel itself is very well written and constructed. The narrative is extremely descriptive. I was so in love with the characters’ voices that I was desperate to skip past the narrative to reach it. But, I held back! Love this badass bitch! 

Synopsis  

"It did seem a little ridiculous that two female reporters were headed off to solve a crime that no detective could. The entire thing began to sound like a cheesy made for TV movie, where good defeats evil, and all is well. I still wasn't one-hundred percent sure what the evil was in this story, and if I was the good, how the hell was I supposed to defeat it. A stake and hammer might do the trick."

In the opening novel of R.M. Gilmore's 'Odyssey of the Occult' series, entitled "The Scene", we find Dylan Hart in her hometown of Hollywood, California. The bodies of seven exsanguinated prostitutes have been found from the Central Valley to Southern California. The media has dubbed them the "Vampire Massacres". Dylan has decided to cash in on the tragedy and write a true crime novel. She begins her odyssey with research into the underground vampire lifestyle. All seemed to be going as planned, and as long as fiction can keep its ass away from fact, she should be alright.

But let's face it, someone is draining women of all their blood. There is no way in hell it's going to end pretty.
