'Roping Love' started a bit slow for me initially. To be honest, cowboys are not one of my favorite topics, maybe it's because where I live, they're not that big of a 'thing'. I think that's the reason why I had the trouble with getting into the story in the first place. The first chapter was a bit tardy; it didn’t really get me into the story, but once it was over, oh boy, I was left in tears and was left feeling satisfied and fulfilled!
I have a soft spot for romance. This story proved to be a golden gem. I am so happy I had the a chance to read and review it. “Roping Love” is all about second chances. I really feel for Chance, the main character, and his hard life, but I'm also kind of angry with him. Given his choices, I really sympathize with him and see why he had to do what he did. I love how realistic his character is; he's really a noble man. To be honest, I'm not sure that I would have given up my love like he did, because I'm not convinced that I could bottle all the sadness in for a day let alone a decade. On the other hand, boys have their pride...
I love how the author made it possible that I could live in the story. It was as if I was there myself. I wasn’t really a fan of Carrie’s (admittedly, I hardly ever like female characters), but I guess for a romance, her character is great.
In the end, I was really pleased to invest my energy into this short read, although I couldn’t help but feel like I wanted this story to be longer. But saying that, the story provides a solid conclusion. I will keep my eyes opened for other work by this author. Tamara Hoffa has really made me feel every part of this story! Thank you for the wonderful read!
