I feel a little bereft after finishing Fat Chance. After following the main character Cass so intensely and being utterly submerged into her thought process, I know feel a little at a loss. I really, truly enjoyed following Brandi Kennedy's fragile yet strong female lead.

It took me a while to warm up to the book and Cass' character, but after a few chapters this was no longer an issue. Brandi Kennedy has successfully created an intriguing and deeply human character in Cass. By the end of the book, I felt as though I was her friend. I felt loss when she did, compassion at her plight and extreme pride as the character develops into a strong woman.

There were times that I wanted to shake the main character, yet I believed her. For the time it took me to read this book (which wasn't long as I was engaged with her story), Cass became real.

If you are looking for a story of empowerment, with a lovely lashing of romance and friendship, then be sure to pick up a copy of Brandi Kennedy's Fat Chance.

About The Author

Brandi Kennedy is a romance novelist whose work centers on the contemporary set, sometimes with a playful twist of this or that as she toys with bits and pieces of other genres. She is the author of To Love A Selkie, which is a tragic romance with a twist of the fantasy element. She is also the author of the Kingsley Series, which is entirely contemporary and focuses on the romantic happenings of the fictional Kingsley family.

A woman of varied interests, Brandi loves photography, music of all kinds, knitting, crochet, and of course, mothering her two young daughters. Currently, she finds her home in the heart of Knoxville, Tennessee, among the mountains and the members of her extended family.
