Review: Rock 'N' Roll Is Undead by Rose Pressey

Veronica Mason, lead singer of the rockabilly band The Voodoo Zombies, discovers her vampire bass player staked through the heart. A vision of the murder flashes in Veronica's mind and she wonders if she's going bonkers. Up until now her supernatural skills consisted of a few botched love spells.

Using her sexy voice and pin-up style has paid off, she's about to land a record deal. But suspicion soon turns to her when another vampire turns up as nothing more than a pile of ashes a vacuum would have a hard time sucking up. Veronica has to hone her paranormal powers or lose her deal and possibly her life.

When an utterly delicious mystery man steps in as the new bass player, Veronica can't figure out if he's there to help or cause more problems. What she does know is she can't resist his good looks and sex appeal. She wonders if they'd make rockin' music together. But helping the undead could stop her from finding out and leave Veronica dead permanently.
Rose Pressey's "Rock and Roll is Undead' is like a breath of fresh air. I was fascinated as to how the story of a rockabilly witch could merge into that of a paranormal romance; my fascination soon turned into real enjoyment.

What I really enjoyed about this book, alongside the originality of the idea for the main plot, was the quirkiness of it all: the characters, the humour, the many twists and turns... and I must admit that I am one of those annoying readers who usually spot the red herrings and work out the ending early on, but Rose Pressey successfully managed to keep me guessing and pretty clueless until the end - yeah Rose!

If you have yet to read one of Rose Pressey's novels, then this book is a good place to start. I expect, like me, you'll soon be hooked!

Review: Embraced (Enduring Kiss #4) - C.E. Black

It is an easy read but don’t start reading it too late at night or you will probably end up with a book hangover. It is very difficult to put down. Sean is a lost wolf. Tour Review, Post & Giveaway: Shudder - Samantha Durante

Reviewer: Bex Rating: 4 out of 5 Fairies Shudder is a strong follow on from Stitch, a book that I thoroughly enjoyed. What I particular enjoyed and thought that the author managed extremely well was the multiple viewpoints that she built in with the narrative. Not only did this allow us extra insight into the characters, but also the varying points of views added lovely depth to the novel. Samantha Durante's craft has improved and developed since book one. On the whole, her writing is tighter and flows that much easier. There were still a few moments within the dialogue that I felt was a little awkward, yet others could easily disagree. I’m just a stickler and very particular with dialogue. Yet again, there’s a fabulous twist that Durante mastered with skill and ease. This one wasn’t quite as much as a shocker as Stitch, but it still successfully made me do a double take just to be certain.
