Review: Exiled by M.R Merrick

Goodreads Synopsis Chase Williams is a demon hunter in the Circle, or at least he was supposed to be. On his fifteenth birthday, Chase stepped up to the altar to claim his elemental power, but it never came. Elemental magic is passed down to a hunter through the bloodline, but on Chase's birthday, the bloodline stopped. Exiled without the Circle's protection, Chase has spent two years trying to survive a world riddled with half-demons and magic. When he has a run in with a frightened and seemingly innocent demon, he learns the Circle's agenda has changed: the Circle plans to unlock a portal and unleash pure-blood demons into the world. Vowing to stop them, and knowing he can't do it alone, Chase forms a reluctant alliance with Rayna — a sexy witch with an attitude and a secret. In their attempt to stop them, Chase and Rayna find themselves in the middle of the Circle's plan, leaving one of them to decide what their friendship is worth, and the ...

Review: Sovereign Pleasures by J.V.K

Goodreads Synopsis *Caution This is for 18+ contains Man on Man Sexual encounter. A set of five short steamy stories. It takes you to the realm where pain and pleasure collide, taking you on a breath taking ride you will not forget. Meet the men of Sovereign Pleasures, and listen to their stories of their pain... and their pleasure... Sovereign Pleasures is a collection of five very short stories that dip into the world of man on man BDSM erotica. These shorts are very explicit and not for the fainthearted and therefore not to everyone's taste. These stories are well written and have the feel of excerpts from five individual novels. I feel all five have a lot of potential to be expanded as these little snippets give only a teasing glimpse of what could be to come. I enjoyed this selection, but I have to confess there was one aspect of Spoiled Love that made me uncomfortable and that was the age of one of  the characters but I read through imagining him to be older...

Review: The Phantom Pilot by Ann Swann

Synopsis "Whatever you do, don't go in the spooky old house.  No matter who dares you, no matter what lures you, do not go in." When a small plane crashes into Jase’s backyard, the ghost of the pilot decides to stick around.  He doesn’t really want to haunt Jase, but since he is now more phantom than pilot, that’s just what happens.  Jase knows he needs a brave soul to help him figure out what the pilot wants, so when he sees Stevie entering the town’s legendary haunted house, he is certain she’s the one.  Can he convince Stevie to help him, or will the pilot live in his closet forever? What a brilliant story! I loved this and so did my daughter. It's only approximately 87 pages long, but there was so much in it that I didn't want it to end. It was like a step back in time and even one of my favorite bands Creedence Clearwater Revival got a mention which made my day.  The Phantom Pilot is a ghost story set in the sixties and the heroine Stevie, wh...

Review: Pulled by Danielle Bannister

Goodreads Synopsis Naya Adams has given up on feeling loved. A walking cliché, Naya lost her parents in a freak car accident at thirteen and has been living with her detached foster ‘adults’ ever since. When Naya enrolls in one of the most respected theatre programs in New England, she is more than eager to trade in her pain for the spotlight. College would finally be the fresh start she’d longed for. Unfortunately for Naya, her high school boyfriend, and abuser, Seth, tags along--trapping her in the cycle of tarnished love. Accustomed to emotional numbness, Naya enters her first acting class, unaware of what was waiting on the other side of the door: her Twin Flame. Rarer and more intense than soul mates, Twin Flames search for centuries looking for their other half. It is in another student, an olive-skinned and terribly scarred sophomore named Etash, that Naya will discover what being loved really means. Although they both try to resist each other, their bond is ulti...

Afterlife Blog Tour + GIVEAWAY with Willow Cross: Final Stop!

Goodreads Synopsis When a recently deceased ghost teams up with a vampire who has remained 17 for nearly 200 years, hilarity and chaos ensues. The day William met Angie, encountering the girl of his dreams was the last thing on his mind. But after a chance meeting in the woods, she seemed to be the only thing he thought about. If he'd known in the beginning that her beauty masked a darker secret and a penchant for finding trouble that was second to none, he might have chosen a different path in the Afterlife. From the first page of ‘Afterlife’, I laughed out loud “...Balls!...”. This immediately impressed me and gave me that warm fuzzy feeling; the one that tells me that I won’t be disappointed. And hurray, I wasn’t in the slightest. ‘Afterlife’ is a ‘Dark Gifts Series Companion’ short. And as such, it lays out the background and history of a few of the characters that we meet in the novels ‘Birthright’ and ‘Inheritance’ (the latter of which I’m yet to r...
