I was completely sucked in to the mystery and intrigue of the story. Cassandra (Cassie) is a strong, intelligent woman who is not looking for love and is looking for her father’s approval. She is ex-CIA agent and was injured on the job, which made her rethink her future. She knows there was a traitor at the CIA but that story is never followed. She is assigned a security job by her father for a new drug and while on the job, the formula is stolen. Cassandra does not give up and enlists her ex-partner Nathan to help her find the information. Nathan, through the story, is a distraction, both to Cassandra and Trevor and to the story. He acts like the jilted suitor and unless he turns up in following stories, seems unnecessary.

After Cassandra is thrown off the team her father gave her, is where the story really gets interesting and involved. The trail leads to NSA analyst Trevor Bauer, who has secrets of his own. They embark on a trip that leads to Italy, France and finally Monaco. Along the way, they both discover things about each other and themselves. It is a love story for all time. They also have to avoid the bad guys and figure out “who done it” and why.

My only complaints about the story are Nathan and also Trevor’s back story. It is alluded to many times and leaves you hanging and confused and seems out of place. It is just a small bump, though, on a marvellous, exciting and sexy tale. I would definitely like to read further stories, hopefully to clear up the Nathan issue and also to find out what happened to Trevor’s parents.
