Review: Hemlock by N.J. Layouni

Hemlock (Tales of a Traveler #1)Hemlock by N.J. Layouni
Lynn's rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love time travel romances, but I am cautious with them. Not too many authors can make it believable and keep the storyline entertaining at the same time. N.J. Layouni does a wonderful job with both.

Modern woman meets medieval man, Martha is feisty and has something of a potty mouth and she isn't going to let any man control her life again, no matter how attractive he is. She gets really ticked when Vadim destroys her smartphone. Then you have Vadim, a hunky sexy man who doesn't understand half of what Martha is talking about and the clothes she is wearing are shocking.

Martha has all kind of theories about what happened to her and where she is. She doesn't want to accept the truth. There is a lot of laugh-out-loud humor in the book. Pretty much what you would expect from two people from such two separate distant times. You can feel the attraction between them that they both fight. Slowly, they start adapting to each other. About that time, the book ends with a major cliffhanger. Should have seen that coming. I got too involved with the story and didn't see that the book was almost finished. Hopefully, the second book isn't to far behind.
