Editing: The Reality!

It's rare that I find the time to actually produce a blog post all of my very own. Life get's in the way, and we're so lucky to be inundated with requests for blog tour spots and reviews which means that I barely get time to breathe before going onto my next task. But today, I've made an exception. Today, I want to talk to you about editing. Don't panic this isn't a plug to use my new Hot Tree Editing service. Far from it. In fact, I just want to talk about book editing in general.

Review: Forbidden Angel by Megan D Martin

Reviewer: Em Rating 3.5 out of 5 Fairies When I started this short story, I didn’t know what to expect. I was a little unsure about reading it.  It started off on a train with description that had me believing that I had been transported onto the train myself. I found myself feeling distraught with the journey that the prisoners had to endure.

Holy Hell Blog Tour Review & Giveaway: The Mark of Abel by Viola Ryan

Reviewer: Bex Rating 4 out of 5 Fairies The Mark of Abel is an intriguing concept for a book and is a thoroughly enjoyable read. The author, Viola Ryan, has successfully created a story filled with humour, tension and romance. The two main protagonists are well polished and are fun to follow. Luke is an easy book throb to crush on, and Janie develops into a strong female lead, despite my doubts at the beginning of the book.

Reviewer: Bex Rating 3 out of 5 The concept of M.M. Shelley's 'The Zombie Story' is original and creative. The world that the author creates is a fascinating place, filled with magic and of course zombies. All of this makes for a pretty cool read, especially for YA readers.

Review & Giveaway: The Witch and the Werewolf by April Fifer & Danielle Hylton-Outland

Reviewer: Justine Rating: 3.95 of 5 Fairies (apparently! - lol) The Witch and The Werewolf was a read I normally would not have liked, but as always, April Fifer and Danielle Hylton-Outland didn’t fail to surprise me. I can hear Bex now, “Now picky, picky Justine what was it this time?!” Lol. Well ¾ of the story was in the male’s POV, and unless I have read the story first in female POV, I don’t normally connect. But my girls pulled it off and gave me a story that had me shocked with its twist and turns and had me loving it.

Blog Tour Review: Crimson Flames by Ashley Robertson

Review: Click: An Online Love Story by Lisa Becker

Reviewer: Amber Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Fairies Meet Renee and her BFF's: Mark the anal compulsive type who over analyzes everything and anything and takes for forever to choose a profile picture. Shelley the fun and as Lisa put it the "Oversexed" type loves men. Shelley seemed to always have a different guy of the night or day or sometimes both night and day and never called them by name. She always gave then nicknames to describe their time together. Every name she gave them made me smile and usually laugh out loud. Shelley’s email usually included the most detail of her and her man’s encounter, some of which made me envious and some made me go ewww. Ashley is Renee's oldest friend and she's slightly stupid and judgemental.

Review: Closure by Kim Carmichael

Today we welcome one of our newest reviewers to Bex 'n' Books. Reviewer Amber has joined our team - yay! She's started off with a cracking first read and a fabulous first review. Reviewer: Amber Rating: 5 of 5 Fairies Closure, by Kim Carmichael, creates amazing characters, ones that made me fall in love with this story immediately. Riley, the main protagonist, is a confidant and successful woman, so very different from the unique and different teenager she once was. She's a woman who reinvented herself after being scorned by the man she loved. She is a character who is easy to like and follow.

Guest Post (18+): Seduction: A Man's Perspective by Author Irving Podolsky

Well Becky, thank you for this guest post. I checked your archive, found a few Q&A’s but nothing like what I’m about to write. This is why I’m writing it: 1) Google shows an adult content warning when entering your site. 2) Many or most of the books you review are romance oriented and consequently appeal to female readers. 3) Some of the books you review are listed as “erotica” and so the topic of sex is not off the table. 4) Since much of the authored sexual content on your blog is written by women for women, I’m thinking maybe a guy’s perspective about seduction and orgasms might be of interest. 5) I have not gotten a guest post invitation to Psychology Today, so this is the next best place to write about keeping an erection. *****

Review & Giveaway(18+): Her Master's Kiss by Vivien Sparx

Her Master's Kiss by Vivien Sparx My rating: 4 of 5 stars Reviewer: Bex Rating 3.5 of 5 stars Vivien Sparx has successfully crafted a novella with a fresh and realistic insight into the world of BDSM. Whilst there is a strong element of romance in Her Master's Kiss, there was no ridiculous drama or unrealistic storyline that are now unfortunately associated with this genre. This was a welcome reprieve and refreshing.

Blog Tour Review: All She Craved - The Agreement by Cami Stark

The Agreement, book two in  Cami Stark's mini series, whilst still just a little too short to really push the series forward at a satisfying rate, was actually much more enjoyable than book one, The Contract.
